RNA Viral Diversity in Asian House Shrew Organs from Hainan, China

249 Asian house shrews (Suncus murinus) were collected from 18 cities/counties across Hainan Island. RNA sequencing of gut, spleen, and lung tissues identified 192 RNA viruses, including 72 novel viruses and 102 assembled genomes. The dataset, last updated in March 2026, highlights 64 known viruses with cross-species transmission potential.
