A three-year field experiment assessed the impact of soil surface management practices on chickpea yield, nutrient uptake, and nutrient use efficiency in vertisols of Western India. Treatments included conventional tillage, fresh broad bed furrow, and permanent broad bed furrow with residue mulching. The dataset was authored by Anita Kumawat and is available under a CC-BY-4.0 license.
