Description
A gene expression dataset from a custom 1×1M Agilent microarray comparing floral transcriptomes of sexual and apomictic genotypes of Eragrostis curvula (weeping lovegrass). The analysis identified 131 differentially hybridized probes, with 130 upregulated in apomictic plants, leading to four main candidate genes. The dataset, authored by Ingrid Garbus and last updated in April 2026, includes results from PCR screening and heterologous functional assays in Arabidopsis thaliana.
Use Cases
Identify candidate genes associated with apomixis based on differential gene expression profiles.
Validate gene-trait associations through PCR screening across multiple genotypes and a mapping population.
Assess the functional impact of candidate genes via heterologous expression and phenotypic analysis in a model organism.
Strengths
Includes results from a custom-designed 1×1M Agilent microarray.
Functional validation provided via heterologous expression assays in Arabidopsis thaliana.

Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The dataset is small (20.5 KB), indicating limited scope.
