Description
A cross-sectional survey of 538 participants, including 325 patients and 213 family members, assessed knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The study was conducted at a hospital in China between April and July 2023, with results showing mean KAP scores and correlations between knowledge, attitude, and practice. The dataset, shared under a CC-BY-4.0 license, contains the survey responses used in this analysis.
Use Cases
Analyzing correlations between patient knowledge, attitudes, and health practices based on the reported KAP scores.
Modeling the mediating role of attitude between knowledge and practice using structural equation modeling techniques.
Assessing the impact of intraocular injection therapy on patient and family member understanding based on the treatment statistics.
Designing targeted educational interventions for AMD based on the identified gaps in knowledge, attitude, and practice levels.
Strengths
Includes 538 valid survey responses with a defined breakdown of 325 patients and 213 family members.
Provides specific mean scores and standard deviations for knowledge (10.99 ± 1.30), attitude (43.05 ± 3.48), and practice (22.36 ± 3.96) domains.
Reports clear statistical findings, including significant correlations and a mediation model derived from structural equation modeling.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect geographic bias inherent to a single hospital study site in China.
