99,925 participants from the Kailuan cohort were followed for a mean of 14.85 years to study chronic inflammation's link to lung cancer. The analysis identified 1,804 incident lung cancer cases and evaluated 15 inflammatory indicators, including novel composite indices SIRI and AISI. Associations were found to vary by pathological subtype, with SIRI showing the strongest effects, particularly for squamous cell carcinoma.
