An F1 population of 200 individuals from a cross between Raboso Veronese and Sultanina grape cultivars was phenotyped for berry color, weight, 28 texture traits, and seed morphology. High-density pseudo-testcross genetic maps for both parents contain over 1,200 SNP markers each. Quantitative trait locus analysis revealed a major QTL on Sultanina chromosome 18 with a LOD score up to 45 and explaining up to 65.49% of phenotypic variation for berry texture and seed traits.
