Description
Administrative fitness records from approximately 130,000 Chinese university students collected between 2019 and 2023, combined with a 2023 survey of 1,200 undergraduates. The dataset, created by Yong Wang and shared under a CC-BY-4.0 license, supports analysis of physical activity, institutional factors, and fitness outcomes.
Use Cases
Modeling pathways between institutional factors and fitness based on structural equation modeling results
Analyzing gender disparities in fitness scores as reported in the results
Investigating the mediating role of physical activity between family support and fitness outcomes
Examining the negative impact of lifestyle risks like screen time and sleep irregularity on fitness
Strengths
Includes administrative fitness records for approximately 130,000 students
Combines longitudinal administrative data (2019-2023) with a detailed 2023 survey of 1,200 students
Contains results from statistical path analysis, including beta coefficients and p-values
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count for the primary dataset is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
