Description
A 2026 study by Sanchari Kundu measured growth and physiological responses of hybrid poplar trees under salt stress with foliar putrescine treatment. The dataset includes measurements of plant height, stem diameter, gas exchange, chlorophyll, carotenoids, sugars, proteins, amino acids, polyamines, and relative water content taken at intervals over 35 days. It is a small dataset (12.0 KB) published under a CC-BY-4.0 license on figshare.
Use Cases
Modeling the relationship between polyamine application and growth metrics like stem height and diameter under salt stress.
Analyzing temporal changes in metabolic compounds such as fructose and sucrose in response to combined salt and putrescine treatments.
Comparing physiological stress indicators like gas exchange and relative water content across different salt concentration levels.
Strengths
Includes specific quantitative results, such as ~20% increase in stem height and ~15% increase in stem diameter under treatment.
Measures a range of physiological and biochemical variables over a defined 35-day experimental period.
Published under a permissive CC-BY-4.0 license for reuse.
Limitations
Row count and column-level documentation are unknown, requiring manual inspection after download.
The dataset is very small (12.0 KB), indicating a limited experimental scope.
Provenance

Collection Method
Data collected from a controlled greenhouse experiment on hybrid poplar (Populus nigra x maximowiczii, clone NM6) involving salt irrigation and foliar putrescine spray.
Time Range
Measurements taken over a 35-day experimental period.
