Description
A 2026 study by Jingxu Li identified Armadillo (ARM) repeat protein genes in six plant species, totaling 32 genes in Triticum aestivum (wheat), 8 in Triticum urartu, 13 in Aegilops tauschii, 22 in Triticum dicoccoides, 15 in Arabidopsis thaliana, and 8 in Oryza sativa ssp. japonica. The dataset includes analyses of gene structures, conserved motifs, phylogeny, and evolutionary selection. RNA-seq and qRT-PCR data demonstrate specific gene responses to biotic and abiotic stresses like powdery mildew, stripe rust, and low temperature.
Use Cases
Comparative genomics analysis based on ARM gene family identification across six plant species
Phylogenetic classification of ARM genes based on the three subfamilies (C1-C3) described
Studying gene family expansion mechanisms based on polyploidy-driven segmental duplications mentioned
Predicting stress-responsive cis-acting elements based on the analysis described
Validating gene expression patterns under stress based on the RNA-seq and qRT-PCR results for specific TaARM members
Strengths
Includes a specific count of ARM genes for six distinct plant species, providing comparative data
Analysis covers multiple aspects: gene structure, motifs, phylogeny, and experimental validation via qRT-PCR
Dataset is openly licensed under CC-BY-4.0
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
The dataset is very small (10.5 KB), indicating limited scope
