57 production cycles of Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp from northeastern Brazil were analyzed for technical efficiency using data envelopment analysis. The study by Marcelo A.S. Rego compared conventional and biofloc technology systems using inputs like population density, feed, labor, and power supply against yield. Results indicated only four cycles were technically efficient, with management inefficiency affecting the conventional system and production scale impacting the biofloc system.
