From November 2005 to November 2007, temperature and current data were collected from four subsurface moorings in the North Atlantic's subtropical gyre, southeast of the Gulf Stream. The dataset is part of the CLIvar MOde Water Dynamic Experiment (CLIMODE), focusing on a region of significant air-sea interaction and Eighteen Degree Water formation. Two heavily instrumented moorings were placed near the Gulf Stream, while two others with more limited instrumentation were located farther south.
This accession contains only temperature and current data; the full CLIMODE experiment also collected salinity and nutrient data. Data files are available in HTML and PDF formats.
