Temperature profile data were collected using CTD casts in the Northeast Pacific Ocean from the NEW HORIZON from 24 June 2003 to 30 June 2003. Data were submitted by Dr. Robert O'Malley of Oregon State University with support from the Dye Tracer Studies of Upwelling Circulation project.
Use Cases
- Model coastal upwelling circulation based on temperature and salinity profiles.
- Analyze vertical water column structure off the Oregon coast.
- Validate dye tracer studies of ocean currents.
- Study short-term oceanographic variability during June 2003.
Strengths
- Data collected from a specific research vessel (NEW HORIZON) over a defined 7-day period.
- Submitted by a named principal investigator (Dr. Robert O'Malley) from Oregon State University.
- Associated with a specific research project (Dye Tracer Studies of Upwelling Circulation).
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
- Last updated 2003-06-30 00:00:00; freshness should be verified.
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
