Description
Bottle cast data collected from the North Atlantic, Arctic, and other locations between 22 February 1973 and 19 September 1991. The dataset includes vertical profiles of temperature, salinity, and carbon-14 (C14). Data were submitted by the University of Miami, Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Sciences.
Use Cases
Model historical ocean temperature and salinity changes based on vertical profile data.
Analyze carbon-14 distribution in ocean water columns for tracer studies.
Study long-term oceanographic trends in the North Atlantic and Arctic regions.
Validate or calibrate ocean circulation models using in-situ bottle cast measurements.
Strengths
Data spans 18 years from 1973 to 1991.
Includes three key oceanographic variables: temperature, salinity, and C14.
Data originates from a recognized academic institution, the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School.
