Description
33 CTD profiles collected by NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown from February 22 to March 11, 2016. The data includes measurements of temperature, depth, pressure, salinity, conductivity, and sound velocity in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean near the equator. Maximum recorded depths reached approximately 3000 meters.
Use Cases
Analyze ocean temperature profiles based on CTD temperature measurements
Study salinity distribution based on conductivity and salinity data
Model sound velocity propagation based on sound velocity measurements
Investigate pressure-depth relationships based on depth and pressure readings
Strengths
33 CTD profiles provide a focused snapshot of ocean conditions
Includes six distinct physical oceanographic parameters
Maximum depth of approximately 3000m indicates deep ocean coverage
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
