Description
Discrete sample and profile data collected from the R/V Kaiyo in the North Pacific Ocean and Philippine Sea from February 16 to 24, 1994. The data include measurements of temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, and other variables. These data were collected by Kei Muneyama of JAMSTEC as part of the GLODAPv2_49XK19940216 dataset.
Use Cases
Modeling ocean circulation and water mass properties based on temperature and salinity profiles.
Analyzing nutrient distributions (nitrate, phosphate, silicate) for biogeochemical studies.
Calibrating or validating oceanographic models using in-situ CTD and bottle data.
Studying dissolved oxygen levels and carbon-14 isotopes for climate research.
Strengths
Data includes multiple key oceanographic variables: temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and nutrients.
Collection period is precisely defined from 1994-02-16 to 1994-02-24.
Data is associated with the authoritative GLODAPv2 compilation.
