Description
NCEI Accession 0088873 contains temperature, salinity, oxygen, and hydrostatic pressure measurements collected using a Conductivity Temperature Depth (CTD) instrument from the research vessel ODEN. The data was collected in the South Pacific Ocean between December 10, 2008, and January 7, 2009. The dataset is published by NOAA NCEI and aggregated via the nasa_earthdata platform.
Use Cases
Analyzing vertical profiles of ocean temperature and salinity (inferred from domain, verify after download)
Modeling ocean circulation and water mass formation in the South Pacific (inferred from domain, verify after download)
Calibrating satellite-derived sea surface salinity data with in-situ measurements (inferred from domain, verify after download)
Strengths
Published by the authoritative NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI).
Data collection period is precisely defined from 12/10/2008 to 01/07/2009.
Geographic coverage is specified as the South Pacific Ocean.
