Description
15 male workers exposed to noise in a food industry participated in a study analyzing the effectiveness of participatory workshops on hearing health. The intervention included a hearing profile assessment, pre- and post-workshop questionnaires, and three workshops covering anatomy, noise effects, and prevention. Results showed a statistically significant improvement in workers' perception of susceptibility, benefits of prevention, and behavioral intentions after the workshops.
Use Cases
Evaluate the impact of participatory workshops on knowledge retention based on pre- and post-intervention questionnaire scores.
Analyze the relationship between long-term noise exposure and hearing loss based on the reported average working time of 31.5 years and the 40% bilateral hearing loss rate.
Study changes in behavioral intentions and perceived benefits of preventive actions among noise-exposed workers following an educational intervention.
Strengths
Includes pre- and post-intervention questionnaire data (versions A and B) allowing for direct comparison of knowledge retention.
Study design incorporates multiple stages: hearing profile assessment, validated questionnaire (NIOSH, 1996), and three structured workshops on specific themes.
Reports statistically significant results in three thematic areas of behavioral change among the 15 participants.
Limitations
Row count and specific column-level documentation are absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
The sample size is limited to 15 male workers from a single food industry, which may limit generalizability.
Last update date is unknown; freshness unverified.
