An analysis using the 100-Car Naturalistic Driving Study data to establish direct relationships between driving behavior and crash involvement. Risk was calculated using odds ratios for various sources of inattention, and population attributable risk percentages were estimated. The report indicates drowsy driving results in a four- to six-times higher near-crash/crash risk relative to alert driving.
