A study by Katherine A. Brill of Harrison Medical Center examined the role of procedural memory in adult second language development. Participants were trained on an artificial language under explicit or implicit conditions, with development assessed via grammar tests at two time points. Procedural memory measures were used to categorize participants into high and low procedural groups.
