Description
29 tree species were measured across three common garden plantations with mean annual temperatures of 13.7 °C, 22.1 °C, and 25.5 °C in the Colombian Andes. The dataset includes high-resolution leaf thermocouple data, optical properties, thermotolerance metrics like T50 and PSII efficiency, and leaf angle measurements. Data were collected by the Environmental Information Data Centre during campaigns in January-February 2024 and April 2025.
Use Cases
Modeling leaf temperature regulation based on high-resolution thermocouple and PAR data.
Assessing species thermotolerance by analyzing T50 and PSII efficiency metrics across temperature gradients.
Studying leaf energy balance using reflectance, transmittance, and absorptance optical properties.
Investigating leaf posture and orientation effects via pitch, roll, azimuth, and vertical angle measurements.
Correlating minimum leaf conductance (gmin) with environmental stress across different mean annual temperatures.
Strengths
Includes data from 15 species at 13.7°C, 10 species at 22.1°C, and 4 species at 25.5°C sites.
Contains high-resolution time-series data at 1-minute (thermocouple, PAR) and 10-minute (leaf temperature, humidity, air temperature) intervals.
Measures a wide range of functional traits including thermotolerance, optics, angles, and conductance.
Limitations
Sampling at the warmest site (25.5°C) was limited to a subset of measurements.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
