A study by Muhammet Uzun of Marmara University developed propolis-incorporated sodium alginate scaffolds using 3D printing. The research highlights scaffold properties optimized at a 20% (v/v) propolis concentration, including pore size, mechanical behavior, swelling-degradation, and antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. In-vitro cytotoxicity tests on human dermal fibroblasts indicate the scaffolds are non-toxic.
