Description
Tide gauge data collected from two bottom-mounted pressure sensors (TG040 and TG041) at Commonwealth Bay, Antarctica. The dataset includes sea temperature and barometric pressure measurements recorded between November 27, 2007, and February 16, 2010. Data were collected by the Australian Antarctic Data Centre (AU_AADC) and are also available from the National Tidal Centre at the Bureau of Meteorology.
Use Cases
Modeling tidal patterns in Commonwealth Bay based on the pressure sensor time series.
Analyzing correlations between sea temperature and barometric pressure recorded by the gauges.
Studying long-term sea-level trends in Antarctica using the multi-year time series data.
Strengths
Data covers a multi-year period from 2007-11-27 to 2010-02-16.
Includes measurements from two distinct sensors (TG040 and TG041) for potential cross-validation.
Records multiple variables: tidal pressure, sea temperature, and barometric pressure.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
