Description
August 2011 records from a ~50-meter transect in the Arctic, collected by the SCIOPS organization. The data was gathered using a CR3000 logger and a manually moved multisensor platform equipped with instruments for measuring vegetation canopy distance, radiation, and temperature. The dataset provides a snapshot of environmental conditions at the Toolik site during that period.
Use Cases
Modeling vegetation canopy height and structure based on sonic distance sensor data.
Analyzing surface energy budgets based on up- and downwelling short- and longwave radiation measurements.
Studying microclimate gradients based on air and surface temperature readings along the transect.
Assessing vegetation health or reflectance properties based on spectral reflection data.
Strengths
Data was collected using a specific multisensor platform with named, high-quality instruments (e.g., CNR4 net radiometer, SI-111 IR radiometer).
Records cover a defined ~50-meter transect, providing spatial context.
Temporal coverage is precisely documented for August 2011.
