Description
Logger records from the NIMS platform at the Toolik transect in August 2010. The data was recorded using a CR1000 logger on a manually moved multisensor platform over a ~50m transect. It includes measurements of distance to vegetation canopy, up- and downwelling short- and longwave radiation, air temperature, surface temperature, and spectral reflection.
Use Cases
Modeling surface energy balance based on up- and downwelling short- and longwave radiation measurements.
Analyzing vegetation canopy structure and height based on sonic distance sensor data.
Studying surface temperature dynamics in relation to air temperature using IR radiometer data.
Investigating spectral reflectance properties of Arctic vegetation from the spectral reflection instruments.
Strengths
Data includes a diverse set of co-located environmental measurements from multiple high-quality instruments (e.g., CNR4 net radiometer, SI-111 IR radiometer).
Provides a spatially continuous profile over a defined ~50 meter transect.
Recorded during a specific field campaign in August 2010, providing a temporal snapshot.
