Temperature loggers deployed at 15 sites across Torres Strait measure sea water temperature at two depths per site. The data provides a historical record for understanding temperature thresholds for coral bleaching and calibrating satellite measurements. The dataset, part of the Australia-wide Sea Temperature Observing System, is managed by the Australian Ocean Data Network and was last updated in July 2026.
Data access requires following links from an interactive map or shapefile to a 'Logger metadata and data tool' for each site.
