Description
Environmental Information Data Centre provides pairwise food web relationship data for three trophic groups: Fagaceae trees, Cynipid gallwasps, and parasitoid wasps. The dataset contains 9 tables detailing interactions between galls-trees, parasitoids-trees, and galls-parasitoids for two sites in Sichuan Province. Data was collected from individual tree-level surveys between November 2017 and June 2022 under a NERC Discovery grant.
Use Cases
Construct food web networks using the pairwise relationship tables to model trophic cascades between trees, gallwasps, and parasitoids.
Analyze site-specific interaction patterns by comparing the Emeishan and Mianning tables for gall-parasitoid relationships.
Study community assembly by examining the combined-site tables for galls-trees, parasitoids-trees, and galls-parasitoids.
Strengths
Data structured into 9 distinct relationship tables for focused analysis of specific trophic links.
Covers a 5-year temporal range from November 2017 to June 2022.
Provides site-level granularity with separate tables for Emeishan, Mianning, and combined sites.
Limitations
Sample size and row counts for each table are unknown, limiting assessment of statistical power.
Column names and data types are unspecified, requiring schema inspection before analysis.
