Marília Gabriella Pinheiro Silva's study analyzes trends in cancer morbidity and mortality among young people aged 0 to 19 years in the Brazilian municipalities of Petrolina (PE) and Juazeiro (BA) from 2004 to 2013. The dataset is derived from the Hospital Internment Information System and Mortality Information System, with age-standardized hospitalization and mortality rates analyzed via Joinpoint regression. Results indicate hospitalization and mortality rates were higher in Petrolina than Juazeiro, with mortality rates in both municipalities exceeding national and regional averages.
