Description
Geospatial point and polygon data of health facilities across Turkey, exported from OpenStreetMap by the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) in March 2026. The dataset captures locations tagged as hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, and doctors' offices along with administrative and capacity details.
Use Cases
Analyzing regional healthcare density by grouping 'amenity' types by 'addr:city'
Identifying specialized medical services using the 'healthcare:speciality' attribute
Planning emergency response logistics based on 'capacity:persons' and 'building' footprints
Strengths
Multi-language support with 'name:en' and 'name:tr' fields
Includes 'healthcare:speciality' for granular facility classification
Available in four GIS-ready formats: SHP, GEOJSON, GEOPACKAGE, and KML
Limitations
Crowdsourced nature leads to potential attribute sparsity in fields like 'capacity:persons'
Geographic bias towards areas with active OSM mapping communities
Provenance
Source
OpenStreetMap
Collection Method
Crowdsourced geospatial tagging and HOT export
Freshness
Updated as of March 2026.
