UKCP09: UK Daily Mean Temperature Gridded Data, 1914–2006

UK gridded datasets based on surface observations have been generated for a range of climatic variables. The data covers the UK at 5 × 5 km resolution and spans the period 1914–2006. It was created with financial support from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is promoted by the UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP).

Use Cases

• Analyze long-term temperature trends based on daily mean temperature data
• Model climate change impacts at a regional scale based on 5 km gridded data
• Establish climate baselines for impact studies based on the 1961–1990 average period
