Description
A group of datasets containing geodetic and mapping quality GPS data from 21 separate UNAVCO-supported Antarctic science projects. The data was collected during the 1998/1999 season and supports disciplines including geology, geophysics, glaciology, biology, and environmental research. The data was aggregated by SCIOPS and last updated on NASA's Earthdata platform in January 1999.
Use Cases
Analyze Antarctic crustal deformation and plate tectonics based on geodetic GPS data.
Study glacier movement and ice sheet dynamics based on mapping quality GPS data.
Support geological mapping and field research in Antarctica based on precise location data.
Conduct environmental research in polar regions based on GPS-supported project data.
Strengths
Data from 21 separate Antarctic science projects provides multiple research perspectives.
Supports multiple science disciplines including geology, geophysics, glaciology, biology, and environmental research.
