Description
NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown collected raw underway biological, meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical time series data in the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean from 2019-12-03 to 2019-12-24. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations personnel submitted the data and supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log. The data were archived via an automated process under the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Modeling ocean-atmosphere interactions based on meteorological and physical data mentioned in the description
Analyzing marine biological patterns based on biological data mentioned in the description
Studying ship navigation and environmental conditions based on navigational and optical data mentioned in the description
Conducting time series analysis of oceanographic variables based on the time series nature of the data
Strengths
Data spans a 22-day continuous time series from December 3 to December 24, 2019
Includes multiple data domains: biological, meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical
Contains supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
