Description
NCEI Accession 0210996 contains raw underway biological, meteorological, navigational, optical, physical, and time series data logged by the Scientific Computer System aboard NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown. The data were collected in the North and South Atlantic Ocean from February 22 to April 17, 2020, and submitted by Office of Marine and Aviation Operations personnel under the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Modeling ocean-atmosphere interactions based on meteorological and physical data
Analyzing marine biological activity patterns based on biological and optical data
Studying ship navigation and environmental correlations based on navigational and time series data
Validating satellite-derived oceanographic measurements based on in-situ physical and optical readings
Strengths
Data spans a 56-day continuous time series from 2020-02-22 to 2020-04 17
Includes multiple data domains: biological, meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical
Collected via an automated archiving process under the NOAA R2R program, suggesting standardized collection
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
