Description
NOAA Ship Gordon Gunter collected raw underway biological, meteorological, navigational, optical, physical, profile, time series and trawl data in the Gulf of Mexico from May 29 to August 1, 2019. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations personnel submitted the data and associated metadata to the National Centers for Environmental Information. The data were archived through an automated process under the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Modeling marine ecosystem health based on biological and trawl data.
Analyzing atmospheric and sea surface conditions based on meteorological and physical data.
Studying vessel-based environmental sampling patterns based on navigational and time series data.
Correlating optical water properties with biological observations.
Strengths
Data collection spans a focused 65-day cruise in the Gulf of Mexico from May to August 2019.
Includes multiple data types (biological, meteorological, navigational, optical, physical, profile, time series, trawl) for integrated analysis.
Data and metadata were submitted through a formal NOAA process (R2R) by OMAO personnel.
