Description
NCEI Accession 0174090 contains raw underway meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical time series data logged by the Scientific Computer System aboard NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations personnel submitted the data, which was collected in the North Pacific Ocean and Philippine Sea from May 27 to July 5, 2018. The data and supplementary cruise-level metadata were archived through the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Correlating meteorological conditions with oceanographic parameters based on the described multi-sensor data.
Analyzing ship navigation patterns and their relationship to environmental measurements.
Validating satellite or model-derived sea surface data against in-situ optical and physical measurements.
Studying temporal variability of ocean-atmosphere interactions during a specific cruise period.
Strengths
Data spans a continuous 40-day period from May 27 to July 5, 2018.
Includes multiple data streams: meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical.
Contains supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log.
