Description
Raw underway data collected aboard NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette in the North Pacific Ocean from 2017-02-14 to 2017-02-18. The dataset contains meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical time series logged by the ship's Scientific Computer System (SCS) and was submitted by Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO) personnel as part of the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository (R2R) program.
Use Cases
Analyze meteorological trends based on the logged meteorological data.
Study ship navigation patterns based on the navigational data.
Correlate optical and physical oceanographic measurements based on the optical and physical data.
Model time series of environmental variables based on the time series data.
Strengths
Data spans a specific 5-day time range from 2017-02-14 to 2017-02-18.
Contains multiple data types: meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical.
Includes supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log (SDAL).
Data was archived through an automated process under the NOAA R2R program.
