Description
Raw underway data logged by the Scientific Computer System aboard NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette during a cruise in the North Pacific Ocean from October 20 to November 3, 2017. The dataset includes meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical time series data submitted by the NOAA Office of Marine and Aviation Operations and archived by the National Centers for Environmental Information via the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Analyze marine meteorological conditions based on the described underway meteorological data.
Study ship navigation patterns and ocean currents based on the described navigational data.
Model physical oceanographic properties based on the described physical time series data.
Correlate optical measurements with other environmental variables based on the described optical data.
Strengths
Data collected during a specific 15-day cruise from 2017-10-20 to 2017-11-03.
Includes multiple data types: meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical time series.
Contains supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log.
Archived via an automated process under the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
