Description
North Pacific Ocean underway data collected aboard NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette from 2019-06-17 to 2019-06-29. The dataset contains raw meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical time series data logged by the ship's Scientific Computer System. NOAA's Office of Marine and Aviation Operations submitted the data and associated cruise-level metadata to the National Centers for Environmental Information via the Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Analyze atmospheric conditions and weather patterns based on the meteorological data mentioned in the description
Study ship navigation and track patterns based on the navigational data mentioned in the description
Correlate physical oceanographic properties with optical measurements based on the physical and optical data mentioned in the description
Model time-series environmental data collection from research vessels based on the automated logging process described
Strengths
Data spans a specific 13-day period from 2019-06 17 to 2019-06-29
Contains multiple data types including meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical measurements
Includes supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log
Collected via an automated process under the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program
