Description
North Atlantic Ocean underway data collected aboard NOAA Ship Pisces from July 10 to July 11, 2017. The dataset contains raw meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical time series logged by the ship's Scientific Computer System. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations personnel submitted the data and associated metadata to the National Centers for Environmental Information via the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Analyze meteorological conditions based on the described underway meteorological data.
Study ship navigation patterns based on the navigational data logged by the Scientific Computer System.
Correlate optical and physical oceanographic measurements based on the described data types.
Model short-term environmental time series based on the two-day collection period.
Strengths
Data includes multiple environmental domains: meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical.
Contains supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log.
Collected via an automated archiving process under the NOAA R2R program.
Limitations
