Description
The Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico, North Atlantic Ocean, and North Pacific Ocean are the regions covered by raw underway data collected aboard NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown from 2017-05-26 to 2017-07 07. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations personnel submitted these meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical time series data logged by the ship's Scientific Computer System. The data were archived through the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Modeling ocean-atmosphere heat exchange based on underway meteorological and physical data.
Analyzing ship navigation patterns and efficiency based on logged navigational data.
Studying optical properties of seawater across different ocean basins.
Correlating physical oceanographic variables with meteorological conditions over time.
Strengths
Data collection spans multiple ocean basins over a 42-day period from 2017-05-26 to 2017-07-07.
Includes multiple data types: meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical, logged as time series.
Data were submitted and archived through the formal NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
