Description
NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown collected raw underway meteorological, navigational, optical, and physical data in the North Atlantic Ocean from April 9 to April 30, 2019. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations personnel submitted these data and supplementary cruise-level metadata to the National Centers for Environmental Information. The automated archiving process was developed under the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Correlating atmospheric and oceanic conditions based on the described meteorological and physical data streams.
Analyzing ship track and environmental interaction based on navigational and time series data.
Calibrating remote sensing instruments using the described optical measurements collected at sea.
Studying short-term environmental variability in the North Atlantic based on the three-week time series.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NOAA research vessel, suggesting authoritative collection methods.
Includes supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log.
Covers a specific three-week period from 2019-04-09 to 2019-04-30 in a defined region.
