Description
North Atlantic Ocean data collected aboard NOAA Ship Pisces from June 25 to July 24, 2018. It contains raw underway meteorological, navigational, optical, physical, profile, and time series data logged by the ship's Scientific Computer System. The data and supplementary cruise-level metadata were submitted by NOAA's Office of Marine and Aviation Operations and archived via the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Use Cases
Correlating meteorological conditions with oceanographic profiles based on the described physical and profile data.
Analyzing ship navigation patterns and environmental sensor readings based on the navigational and underway data.
Building time-series models for ocean conditions based on the logged time series data.
Validating automated data logging and archival processes for research vessels based on the described R2R program workflow.
Strengths
Data covers a specific 30-day cruise in the North Atlantic Ocean from 2018-06-25 to 2018-07-24.
Includes multiple data types: meteorological, navigational, optical, physical, profile, and time series.
Contains supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
