Description
NOAA Ship Pisces collected raw underway meteorological, navigational, optical, physical, profile, and time series data in the North Atlantic Ocean during a 33-day cruise from June 28 to July 30, 2019. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations personnel submitted the data, which was logged by the ship's Scientific Computer System and archived via the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program. The dataset includes supplementary cruise-level metadata from the Ship Daily Activity Log.
Use Cases
Correlating meteorological conditions with oceanographic profiles based on the described physical and profile data.
Analyzing ship navigation patterns and their relationship to environmental measurements based on the navigational and time series data.
Validating optical sensor readings against concurrent physical measurements in a marine environment.
Strengths
Data covers a specific 33-day cruise from 2019-06-28 to 2019-07-30, providing a continuous time series.
Includes multiple data types (meteorological, navigational, optical, physical, profile) logged from a single platform.
Archived through an established automated process under the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository program.
Limitations
