74,571 adult respondents from 12 U.S. states participated in a 2009 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) sleep module. The data shows 35.3% reported less than 7 hours of sleep, 48.0% reported snoring, and 4.7% reported nodding off while driving in the preceding 30 days. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) analyzed this data to assess the prevalence and distribution of sleep difficulties.
