Description
Providing 9 Web Map Service (WMS) layers documenting Hurricane Eta incidents, emergency shelters, and COVID-19 statistics across Honduras. Managed by OCHA ROLAC and the University of Honduras, the data captures municipal-level impacts and national infrastructure during the 2020 storm event.
Use Cases
Mapping shelter (Albergues) distribution against incident reports (Eventos_ETA) to identify underserved flood zones
Analyzing the intersection of COVID-19 mortality (Muertos) and hurricane-affected municipalities (Incidencias_Municipio_ETA)
Visualizing geological risks by overlaying fault lines (Fallas_Geologicas_CA) with village-level boundaries (Limite_Aldeas_HN)
Strengths
9 distinct geospatial layers
Official COPECO/COEN incident reports
Administrative boundaries down to village level (Aldeas)
Limitations
WMS format restricts direct access to raw attribute tables for offline processing
Specific to the 2020 hurricane season
