Description
2018 data from daily upper air observations at Jang Bogo Station, Antarctica, conducted from February to November. The data, collected by AMD_KOPRI via radiosonde launches at 00 UTC, includes pressure, temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and wind direction sampled every second up to heights over 20 km. It was last updated on the platform in September 2018.
Use Cases
Modeling vertical atmospheric profiles based on pressure, temperature, and humidity data.
Analyzing wind patterns and jet streams based on wind speed and direction measurements.
Studying seasonal changes in the Antarctic atmosphere based on data collected from February to November.
Calibrating or validating satellite-derived atmospheric data based on high-resolution in-situ measurements.
Strengths
High-resolution temporal sampling with data recorded every second.
Vertical coverage extends to altitudes over 20 kilometers.
Regular daily observations provide a consistent time series for most of the year.
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Last updated 2018-09-30 23:59:59.999000; freshness should be verified.
