Derived from 2007 land cover, rainfall, and terrain data, this geospatial layer identifies areas with high potential for contributing surface water flow to the river network in Northern Ireland. It was created by analyzing CEH Land Cover 2007, Met Office average rainfall, and a 5-meter Digital Terrain Model within the SciMAP application in SAGA GIS. The 'High Network Contribution' category is defined as areas scoring above one standard deviation from the mean contribution score.
The dataset's 'High Network Contribution' class is defined statistically (+1 standard deviation), which is a relative measure specific to this analysis.
