Description
Estimates of biogenic CO2 flux components at 0.05-degree resolution are provided by the SMUrF model. The dataset covers multiple global regions, including eastern and western CONUS (2010-2019), western Europe, eastern Asia, and others, with modeled components including gross primary production (GPP), ecosystem respiration (Reco), and net ecosystem exchange (NEE). It is produced by ORNL_CLOUD and integrates inputs from MODIS land cover, solar-induced fluorescence, above-ground biomass, and eddy-covariance measurements.
Use Cases
Analyzing regional trends in gross primary production (GPP) using four-day mean estimates.
Modeling net ecosystem exchange (NEE) dynamics with hourly downscaled GPP and Reco data.
Assessing uncertainty in daily ecosystem respiration (Reco) estimates across different biomes.
Validating carbon flux models against eddy-covariance (EC) measurement-informed data.
Mapping spatial patterns of biogenic CO2 fluxes in urban and agricultural areas using land cover classification.
Strengths
Provides high-resolution (0.05-degree) global coverage for multiple regions, including CONUS, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Integrates multiple validated input streams, including MODIS land cover, GlobBiomass AGB, and eddy-covariance measurements.
Offers multi-temporal data with four-day GPP means, daily Reco, and hourly NEE estimates.
Includes uncertainty estimates for both four-day GPP and daily Reco components.
Limitations
Exact row count, file size, and complete column list are not provided by any source.
