Annual marine biofouling surveys from 2006 monitor the introduction and spread of invasive species like the Vase tunicate (Ciona intestinalis) in Newfoundland and Labrador. The program uses standardized protocols with georeferenced collector plates deployed at intertidal and subtidal sites from May to October. Data indicates detections of this high-impact solitary invader, first found in 2012, with enhanced sampling in Placentia Bay from 2018-2022.
Data is available in multiple formats (SHP, ESRI REST, CSV).
