A civil construction project measured the thermal insulation of an inn's roof in São Joaquim, SC, one of Brazil's coldest regions. The results show a recycled asphalt blanket reduces roof heat loss between 68 and 72% and has a material cost two to five times smaller than other studied insulators. The dataset, from an open-access paper by Mágilla Feitosa Medeiros, indicates the economic viability and environmental benefits of this recycled material.
