122 stations on Australia's Carnarvon Shelf were surveyed between August and September 2008, collecting underwater video and still images from depths of 13-125 meters. The survey was a collaboration between Geoscience Australia and the Australian Institute of Marine Science under the CERF Marine Biodiversity Hub's Surrogates Program. Its objective was to gather co-located data to test physical parameters as surrogates for benthic biodiversity patterns.
Original video footage was recorded to mini DV tapes and later copied to digital format; the original tapes are archived at AIMS-WA.
